The Spirit of the Beehive (Spanish: El espíritu de la colmena) is a 1973 Spanish drama film directed and co-written by Víctor Erice. The film was Erice's feature directorial debut and is considered a masterpiece of Spanish cinema.[1] The film, set in a small town in post-Civil War Spain, focuses on a young girl named Ana. It traces family and school dynamics, her fascination with the 1931 American horror film Frankenstein, her exploration of a haunted home and landscape, making subtle references towards the dark, contentious politics of the time.
The film has been called a "bewitching portrait of a child's haunted inner life".

Cría cuervos ("Raise Ravens", also written Cría cuervos…) is a 1976 Spanish psychological drama film written and directed by Carlos Saura and produced by Elías Querejeta. The film is an allegorical drama about an eight-year-old girl dealing with her troubled childhood. It stars Geraldine Chaplin and Ana Torrent and co-stars Mónica Randall, Conchi Perez, Mayte Sanchez, Florinda Chico and Héctor Alterio.

Highly acclaimed, it received the Grand Prix at the 1976 Cannes Film Festival.[1] It also was selected as the Spanish entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 49th Academy Awards, but was not accepted as a nominee. Nowadays the movie is regarded as Carlos Saura's greatest masterpiece, one of the best movies of 1976, of the 1970s, of the 20th century and one of best and greatest classics of Spanish cinema.

Janette Anne Dimech (born 10 October 1951), known professionally as Jeanette, is an English-born Spanish singer and songwriter. She first rose to prominence as the lead singer of Pic-Nic, a teenage folk-pop band that found success in 1968 with her song "Cállate, niña". Jeanette returned as a solo artist in 1971 with the Hispavox single "Soy rebelde", which redefined her career as a romantic balladist and was a hit across the Spanish-speaking world, becoming a generational anthem.

In 1976, Carlos Saura included Jeanette's 1974 song "Porque te vas" in his film Cría cuervos, which propelled it to become a major hit and one of the most famous Spanish pop songs of all time and origined many versions of it in other languages, the most famous one being Russian "В Последний Раз (For The Last Time)". After the international success of "Porque te vas", Jeanette worked in France and Germany until she returned to the Spanish market with the 1981 album Corazón de poeta, which includes several of her most famous songs. The commercial reception of Corazón de poeta allowed her to record two more albums with RCA Victor—Reluz in 1983 and Ojos en el sol in 1984—which were unsuccessful. Her last studio album, Loca por la música, was released in 1989 on independent record label Twins and sought to reinvent her style with techno-pop influences
