Join AQS Instructor Jeanette Walton at AQS QuiltWeek - Grand Rapids, August 20–23, 2025, for an exciting week of quilting adventures! She'll be teaching foundation paper piecing in these exciting workshops:

Fractured Paint Box - Paper Piecing
Day: Wednesday, 8/20, 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM

Fractured Paintbox is one of the most popular and enduring Quiltworx foundation paper piecing patterns. Designed specifically for beginners, the vibrant pattern appeals to all levels of quilters. With only straight lines and using pre-cut fabric strips, everyone will enjoy easily creating this beautiful quilt. This pattern works with Quiltworx.com 2½" Strip Sets, which have 48 strips instead of 40. This strip set makes the 3 x 4 layout of “paint boxes” shown on the cover. The instructions include information for a 3 x 3 layout that uses a set of standard 2½" strips (40) pieces as well.

Star Baby - Paper Piecing
Day: Thursday, 8/21, 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM

Fast, fun, and easy! The Lone Star design is made with just nine 2½" wide strips! The strip piecing technique is used in many other Quiltworx designed patterns. The optional border finishes at 40” square - a perfect baby quilt! The pattern includes enough papers to make two quilts - share with a friend or explore your creativity by making a second!

Pocket Compass - Paper Piecing
Day: Friday, 8/22, 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM

Learn to paper piece the Judy Niemeyer way! This beautiful foundation paper pieced pattern goes together quickly and easily. Be shocked and amazed at the perfect points, and the large pieces will surprise you with the ease of assembly. Shhh....it will be our little secret how easy-peasy those curves are! Fun!
