The much-awaited trailer for Thug Life is finally out, bringing together cinema legends Kamal Haasan and director Mani Ratnam after nearly four decades since their iconic Nayakan collaboration. This explosive gangster drama also stars Silambarasan TR (STR), Trisha Krishnan, Abhirami, Sanya Malhotra, Joju George, Pankaj Tripathi, Nasser, Aishwarya Lekshmi, and more.

The trailer teases intense power struggles, betrayal, and emotional moments, including a surprise bold kissing scene between Kamal Haasan and Abhirami that has become the talk of the town. Kamal Haasan plays Rangaraya Sakthivel Naickar, a feared gangster whose return shakes the underworld and pits him against his own son, played by STR. The chemistry between Kamal and Abhirami adds a new layer of intrigue to the film’s narrative.

Directed by Mani Ratnam and co-written by Kamal Haasan, Thug Life is produced by Raaj Kamal Films International, Madras Talkies, and Red Giant Movies. The film’s music is composed by the legendary A.R. Rahman, promising a powerful soundtrack and background score. Cinematography is handled by Ravi K. Chandran and editing by Sreekar Prasad.

The trailer launch took place on May 17, 2025, in Chennai, and the audio launch is scheduled for May 24, 2025, with AR Rahman performing live. Thug Life is set for a grand worldwide theatrical release on June 5, 2025.
